Here are some pictures of the deer that were here today. The dogs were acting funny and I looked out the window and there were 4 or 5 deer out back.

We watched them for a while trying to find something to eat and occasionally they would look up and it was like they were looking right at us.

I told my husband, and the little guy agreed, that next year we need to get a salt lick and some food for the deer.

Christmas morning I had my Mother in Law for brunch. Right before we ate she noticed these deer in our back yard.

There were actually about 6 or 7 of them and we watched them for a few minutes out our back door.

My husband got these two pictures. The dogs started barking and the deer walked away.

It was fun to see them and watch them.

A backyard visitor

It's blurry but if you look to the right of the tree you can see the deer that visited us this morning. It was a buck.

Tonight the dogs were acting funny again. It was almost dark so I couldn't get any pics.
But there were four beautiful deer in the yard. And in the neighbors yard. It looked like they were feeding and drinking.

The picture above is pretty accurate except it's not green here, it's brown with a snow covering.

I watched the deer for about 15 minutes and then they walked back to our back 40!
I love living out here.

Doe a deer, a female deer.

This morning I woke up a few minutes before my son did. One of the dogs started barking very loudly. Not her normal "there's the neighbors dog" type of bark. It was light enough out that I could see this huge Doe in the yard, just outside the fence. It was beautiful and I quickly tried to take a picture but the deer moved too fast to snap one.
We used to get a lot of deer in the yard before we got all the dogs and fenced in a lot of the yard. They used to sleep in the pines out back and sometimes eat the apples off our trees.
We see a lot of wildlife around here and it's pretty cool. Several times I have seen wild turkeys. Of course we have the usual animals as well. Racoons, fox (that eat hapless chickens)and a ton of birds, lots of rabbits and squirrels.
I am thankful I live where I live.
