My Garden
This is my garden today. Yesterday my husband and little guy cleaned it up and got rid of the stuff.
It turned out to be a not so bad year, given the tomato blight.
The husband made lots of salsa and I made some tomato sauce to freeze.
We even got some carrots toward the end!!
Can't wait til next year now!! I am going to plant a couple Zucchini plants!

Steaming compost, part ll
Eleven days ago I posted this.
Today my pile of enriched compost is STEAMING!!! I can hardly believe it but it is.
My husband told me today that he thought it felt warm and I went out there to check it out and sure enough it's warm and steaming and composting well!! I am so excited!
He is also going next week to get another truck load of compost/manure for the garden extension.
I have already purchased some seeds to start for the new part of the garden.
I am doing carrots again, and two different types of lettuce. I also got cucumbers and about three or four herbs.
There are already just four tomato plants in there now that hubby put in the other day. We are waiting to do more til we are sure it won't get so cold at night.
Mmmmm, the thought of fresh, warm, just picked, homegrown tomatoes is just mouth watering to me!!!

Fresh tomatoes...
We had an abundance of tomatoes this year.
We had regular tomatoes and Roma's.
My husband made 11 quarts of salsa and I made 9 quarts of tomato sauce to freeze!
We also gave away a ton of tomatoes to family members this year.
We had BLT's a few times too.
There is nothing like a fresh homegrown tomato with dinner.
I can't wait to eat the tomato sauce this winter!!!

Garden
Another picture of the garden. It's doing well.
Lots of tomatoes and peppers.
This is one of the green peppers. It is huge! I gave another one to my brother.
My husband and I have been talking recently about expanding the garden next year.
I think we are going to!
I will have more space to grow some different veggies and still grow all the tomatoes and peppers,
We'll have lots of work to do in the spring for the new garden!

Garden
This is my Garden today. If you look above the red rake you can see the carrots!
This was the garden in May when it was first planted.
My husband and son also planted carrots and three different colored peppers, plus jalepeno peppers.
The garden seems to be doing well so far even with all the rain and not much sun.
