Thanksgiving Thankful Thursday

Today is Thanksgiving day and we celebrated with our moms.

This year I have been thinking a lot about the early settlers of our nation. I can't imagine the hardships they went through to get here and survive the first few years.

We have most everything in bounty. Not having to worry about food or shelter like the early settlers did.

I am thankful for them and for our nation.

I am also thankful for:
* my cousins
* my mom and her continued health
* my family
* being able to get together and share a bountiful meal
* God

I hope you have all enjoyed your day too!!

Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

November Blankets

Getting caught up with a few crochet items.

This is a sweater I made. It's made with RedHeart yarn. It's about a child size 8.

This is a blanket I made for a friend, she is having a baby girl.

It's made with Lion Brand Homespun and the color is Cotton Candy.

It measures about 30 inches wide by 41 inches long.

Matthew 5:44-45
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse
you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the
children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his
sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust.

Psalm 113:3

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for many things. I am thankful for the Veterans that have served our nation and for the men and women that continue to serve our nation and keep us safe.

"Some gave, Some gave all."

We have many veterans in each of our families. Our dads, brothers, uncles, aunts and cousins.

I am also thankful that I had the opportunity to serve and so did my husband.

I am thankful for sunny, warm fall days.

I am thankful for homemade applesauce--my newest obsession!!

Thankful Thursday

Today, and for the month of November Laurie is hosting Thankful Thursday. Today she is posting about "Gratified or Grateful?". Go check out her blog!!

Today I am thankful for many things!!

* the right to vote
* my children
* my husband
* beautiful fall days!
* having enough
* kind strangers

I had a doctor appointment this morning that I had to fast for. Afterwards I stopped by McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich. I pulled up to the window to pay and was surprised that the person ahead of me had paid for my order!!! So I paid for the person behind me! It was such a nice surprise and it felt good to pay for the person after me!

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom
resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Get out and vote.....

Didja vote today??

I did. I vote whenever there is an election. It is my right and duty as an American Citizen.

It didn't used to be like this for women. Women were not able to vote until 1920.

I am glad to be able to vote.

Here are my previous posts about women's suffrage:
