May Blankets

This blue blanket and washcloths are for a woman I know having a "surprise" baby!! And it's a boy!

The blanket is made with Bernat Baby's Breath and the washcloths are made with 100% cotton yarn.


These three baby blankets are made with Bernat Baby Coordinates.

They are smaller than I normally make for baby blankets since they are for NICU babies that are generally smaller than full term babies.

Sadly, some of these smaller blankets will be used for memorial blankets too.

This pink blanket and washcloths I made for a woman having her fifth baby. And it's a girl. She has four boys already!!

Most of them are bigger than the normal tiny ones I have been making.

They are made with various yarns. Homespun, Joann's Boucle,Bernat and Carons.

This blanket is made with Homespun Cotton Candy and Spring Green.

It measures about 36 inches wide and 43 inches long.

I made this blanket for a woman who has waited a very long time for a child. I hope she likes the blanket!!

I made this blanket for a woman who is in the process of adopting a sweet little boy.

It is made with Homespun Florida Keys Green (the dark green) and Spring green.

It measures 32 inches wide and 39 inches long.

I finished this blanket the other day.

It's made with Caron Pound of Love yarn in that baby green and I used a strand of white with it. It's so soft!!

It measures 26 inches wide and 35 inches long.

I made this blanket for my little guy. He chose the yarn and I added the solid colors because making it all in the multi color is just too busy.

He chose Red Heart "Bikini". I added two different blues, one on each end, a yellow and a greenish color. I think it turned out ok, though the yellow is not my favorite.
But the boy likes it and that's all that counts!!

It is 34 inches wide and 54 inches long.

This really is a pretty blanket, the picture looks awful, it's the lighting in my house.

Here is a picture of what the yarn looks like and you can see why I chose the solid colors.

Six more blankets for the NICU babies.

The top three are made with Lion Brand Pound of Love.

The purple one is made with Lion Brand Chunky.

The pink one and the brown one are made with leftover Lion Brand Homespun.

I added the side view to show the different colors in those two. I thought they turned out kind of pretty!!

Starting from the top blue blanket, here are the sizes:

Five more NICU blankets, though these are kind of big for preemies.

The blue, light purple and dark purple blankets are made with Lion Brand Chunky. This was another yarn I got for a huge bargain at the dollar store about 4 years ago!

The white blanket is Red Heart.

The pink/green one is Homespun.

I'm going to try to make them a bit smaller with the next batch. Like maybe 18x18.

This blanket is made with Caron's Pound of love baby yarn, It's that baby green with a strand of white mixed in with it.

It has a white portion on the top because I miscalculated how much yarn I had left and I ran out of yarn and didn't have another color to match!!

This blanket is 27x32.

I originally made it for a friend of my daughters. They didn't find out the gender of the baby til birth so I thought I would make a green blanket.

Well, I didn't really like how it turned out so I waited til they had the baby and gave them a PINK blanket. They had a baby girl and I was the first person to give them a pink item!!!

They will go for preemie babies in the NICU.

The white blanket is made with Red Heart and all the others are made with Homespun.

None of them took that long to make since they are so small.

I finished this one this afternoon. It's my last May blanket.

It's made with Homespun again--that's my favorite yarn for afghans.

I like how this self stripes.

This is another May blanket that I just finished.

It is 6 feet 2 inches long and 5 feet wide. The red in the afghan is really a deep dark rich red. It's a beautiful red. It looks a bit washed out in the picture though.

The dog is Louie, one of my Jack Russells!

The Cotton Candy one is a bit larger than I normally make.
