Circle of shoes.........

These are the six pairs of handmade shoes I have. The top three were made for me and the bottom three are the pairs that I made!

SHOES!!!

These are my new purple shoes! I made them the first week of February. The class was supposed to be

held at Northhouse Folk School  but there were not enough students so it was cancelled. I traveled out

to New Hampshire to Cordwainer shoes to make these shoes.  I have taken two of the workshops at

Northhouse, and this was to be the third. I had such a good time at the shop. I was able to see all the

tools and equipment that are used in making shoes.  And I got to see the wall of leather. There were

just two students and it was very relaxing.

I wanted to make purple shoes and I did. I have a sweater to match these shoes perfectly.

Shoes!!

In January, I made another trip to Grand Marais. It is still beautiful up there, and it was cold! The drive

was peaceful, and there wasn't too much traffic. I left on Wednesday morning and came home Sunday

afternoon!

These shoes are a different style, and they are done in a burgundy leather. I wanted to make a purple

pair of shoes but there wasn't any purple leather this time.

These are beautiful shoes, I had so much fun making them, and they are sooooo comfortable. This pair I

can wear with dress slacks, or jeans.

Shoes!!!

These green and white shoes are the shoes I handmade myself this past summer. I signed up for a class with the woman that made the red shoes and burgundy shoes below.  I made these shoes by hand, all sewn by hand, the leather was cut by hand. Everything by hand. It was four days of hard work and my hands and fingers were so sore! I am actually going up in January to make another pair. Different style and different color. I am excited to go again. My nephew said they looked like bowling shoes. I don't care, I wanted a pair of green shoes, and this is what I chose. They are soooo comfortable.
These are the red shoes made by hand to fit MY feet. I love the red shoes.
These are slip ons and I like them but they are a tiny bit big. Made by the same lady, but slip ons always fit a little big. They are beautiful.

Seven things...........

I have a Seven things project update.

We periodically put things out to the curb. Most recently it was fish tanks and air conditioners. I love curbside recycling.

Also, I cleaned out my shoes. I desperately needed to do this as the shoes in my closet were piled high on the shoe racks. That's never good. It ruins the shoes and it indicates that a person has too many shoes.

I finally went through them and put them in a large garbage bag. There were about 14 pair of various shoes in very good condition. I will be dropping them off at our local family services. I like this place better than Salvation Army or Goodwill. I feel it serves the local people better.
