Thankful Thursday

Today we are at Laurie's place, Women taking a stand.

Today she is blogging about "remembering". A timely topic since it is Memorial day weekend!

I am thankful for the men and women serving in our armed forces today, and for the men and women that have served in the past. They are responsible for our freedoms that we enjoy today. Thank you all!

I am also thankful for:
* my family
* a full pantry
* air conditioning!!
* my garden!
* beautiful spring days
* remembering family members that are no longer with us.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thankful Thursday

I really did have a thankful week!!

I am always thankful for my family and children.

We found an abandoned kitty this past weekend and we could not keep it. We tried a few friends we thought might want it, and tried our local animal shelter.
We ended up taking him to the Humane Society. The man working there told us since he was a kitty, the chances of being adopted quickly were very good. He told us how we could find out if the kitty was adopted.
All this past week I was watching the Humane Society site. I saw our kitty listed, then he was not listed any longer. That indicates he was adopted!!! I am thankful for that this week too.

My little guy is almost done with school. We bought him a nice shirt and tie for his kindergarten graduation coming up!!

Galatians 5:13 (New Living Translation)

13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

Prayers and Promises week 20

This week's verse is Romans 13:12--

May Blankets

I made this blanket for my little guy. He chose the yarn and I added the solid colors because making it all in the multi color is just too busy.

He chose Red Heart "Bikini". I added two different blues, one on each end, a yellow and a greenish color. I think it turned out ok, though the yellow is not my favorite.
But the boy likes it and that's all that counts!!

It is 34 inches wide and 54 inches long.

This really is a pretty blanket, the picture looks awful, it's the lighting in my house.

Here is a picture of what the yarn looks like and you can see why I chose the solid colors.

Thankful Thursday

Today Laurie is talking about delighting in the Lord. Go read her blog today!!

This has been a good week. I thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful Mother's day!! With sweet surprises from my little guy and husband.

The little guy is done with Awana now so our Wednesday's are not so rushed anymore. I am so glad he enjoyed Awana. He is excited to go back next year!

T ball and swimming are just right around the corner and hopefully we will stay busy this summer.

This week I am thankful for:
* the birds singing so early in the morning. I need to remind myself that for so many months I do not hear the birds, that I need to enjoy it NOW!
* my husbands hard work
* my snuggly little guy, who freely gives hugs and kisses
* my mom
* my daughter

I hope you all have a great week!!

Thankful Thursday

Today Laurie is hosting and she is talking about wearing true colors. It is very good--go read it.

Laurie brings up a good point--how do people know we are on Gods team?? We don't wear specific colors like other teams do. We don't even really have a team name!!

How do you show you are on Gods team???

Today I am thankful for:
*my family
*long time friends
*for the special women in my life. My mom, daughter, aunts, grandma, sister in laws and friends!
*AWANA--my son enjoyed this year at AWANA
*teachers! It's teacher appreciation week. I cringe when I think back on how I treated some of my teachers. I never really understood what all encompasses a teachers day until this very year. It truly is a special gift being a teacher.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Prayers and Promises week 18

Bethany has chosen the theme of Light for this month. Please go visit her blog today!

The first one today is Ephesians 5:8--
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light."

We know that light is the opposite of darkness. It looks different from darkness. As "children of light" we look different and stand out from the darkness around us.

Thank you Bethany!!!
