Baby blankets.....

These are two blankets I made for my niece who is having a second baby girl any day!

The purple is made with Bernat Babys breath. It's a bulky yarn and it turned out beautifully.

The little purple blanket it made of fleece that I crocheted around the edge.

Blankets etc........

This is a scarf I made for my Great Niece Isabel. She is just two but she loves the blankets I crocheted

 for her. I made this with Red Heart yarn.

This Pink blanket is made for my friend Lisa, for a friend of her. I worked with Lisa at the VA for three

 years and taught her how to crochet. But she is busy so she asked me to make one for her. I made it

with Bernat baby yarn and it is so soft!!

October baby blankets..............

These are blankets I made for a woman I know (Melanie) having her ninth baby. It's a girl!!

The very bottom blanket is made with Lion Brand Homespun and the color is Tulips. 

The light pink blanket is made with Bernat Baby Sport in pink. It's such a soft pink.

The next one is fleece with a crocheted edge. I make those for lovies for the babies.

Last, on top, are three all cotton wash cloths for the baby.

Baby blankets

 These two baby blankets were made for my friend Heide. Both of her sons and their wives are having babies this month. One boy and one girl.  These blankets are made with Bernat Baby Sport. It's a lighter yarn than I usually use, but it makes a really nice blanket. I also gave them each a fleece lovey that I edged in crochet, but I didn't get a picture of that.

• This Blanket and lovey are made for a teacher (Robyn D) at my sons school. It's her first baby and it's a girl. The blanket is made with Bernat Baby Sport. The polka dot is the fleece blanket edged in crochet.

Baby blanket

I made this red baby blanket for a friend of my daughter. I asked her what color she wanted and this is it! She had her second baby boy this past week!
Blanket is made with Lion Brand Homespun. It's such a pretty color red too.

Baby blankets.

 

These are three blankets that I made this winter/spring. I've given them all away to people now.

They are made with Lion Brand Homespun yarn and are all baby sized afghans.

The color is really off on this picture, but that is a pink one on top, a blue blanket and another pink on

the bottom.

February baby blankets

These are my latest baby blankets, all made with Lion Brand Homespun. The very top one is a beautiful

 dark purple. Then pink, then a blue one. They are all baby sized blankets.  I just love Homespun yarn

 for the baby blankets. It makes such a thick beautiful blanket.

Fleece......

The first picture is all the fleece that my husband and I cut to make blankets. I cut

them to different sizes, then I crochet an  edge with yarn. It's something different than just crocheting a whole blanket. Most of these go to an NICU unit for preemie babies, so some of the blankets are quite small.

The second picture is of the yarn and fleece after I purchased it. Most of them are two yards but there are some a bit larger due to being bolt ends. All of the fleece cut equals 102 pieces. I don't think I'll get them all done this year though!! That's a lot to do in between my regular crocheting. But it will be fun to see how many I get done!!

The day after Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving.  We just had a small group this year, my husband smoked the turkey, and the whole meal was delicious.

Today, for the first time ever, I went shopping at odarkthirty to buy fleece and yarn at Jo-Ann's.  I have never ever gone out on black Friday before, but there was such a great deal on fleece and yarn, that I talked my husband into getting up at 5 am and heading out to the stores. We went to a smaller town to shop, so it was actually not that busy.  He dropped me off at the door at about 5:56 am and the doors opened at 6 am. I choose my fleece, had it cut, looked at yarn, paid and was done by 6:27 am. I had to wait for my husband and son to pick me up. They did so at 7:05 am.

I just love the fleece I chose this year, some are the same as last year. I also purchased two yards of each color, except the hot pink on the bottom, that is three and a half yards because I got a deal on the end of the bolt.  This fleece should last a while. The fleece I bought last year was only one yard of each color, and this year I bought even more colors!!  It will take me a while to use all this fleece.

I make varying sizes of blankets for babies, mostly smaller ones for the NICU babies, but I have found that the small blankets also make very nice lovies for big babies too!!

Blankets and shawls........

 I love this baby blanket and lovey. I made them both. I bought a bunch of fleece, cut it into smaller sizes and crocheted the edges. They are fun and quick to make.

 This is a brown rectangular shawl I made for charity. Made with Lion Brand Homespun. I love making shawls!!

This is the fleece I edged in crochet. I bought four yards of four different patterns and crocheted the edges. It works up quickly and is great for charity.

Baby blankets

These are baby blankets that I have made this fall. I know two women that are having baby boys after having three baby girls!!  I have another friend having a baby in the Spring time but she is not finding out the gender! so I will have a blue and pink blanket available for her.

I've been crocheting in between studying for my Spanish class and this is what I have done this fall.

All of these are baby sized, about 36x48 or so, I never measure when I make them, I just crochet them. All but the yellow one are made with Lion Brand Homespun. The yellow is similar to Homespun but it's not and I forget what brand it is.

Baby blankets

More baby blankets. The two bottom ones are made with Homespun. The pink one is made with Red Heart yarn.

These three are just baby sized blankets ( they are folded). The pink one on top is for a friend of mine who is giving it to her pregnant friend.

The bottom two are for other pregnant people I know.

Crochet projects catch up post

 I've started knitting and this is the scarf I made with my daughters help. It's made with wool yarn. I sent it to a dear friend this past week and she told me she likes it!! That makes me happy.

 

This is a brown shawl I made for the church for the Prayer Shawl ministry. It's made with Homespun yarn and it's rectangular shaped.

 This is a green hat I made for my daughters boyfriend for Christmas. It's made with Red Heart yarn.

 

This is a purple Prayer Shawl I made for a friend. It's Homespun yarn in Purple and it's very pretty, one of my favorite colors. I hope she likes it, I sent it to her this week.

 This is a white memorial blanket I sent to a dear friend that had a miscarriage. It's made with Homespun yarn.

This is a yellow blanket I made for a teacher at my sons school. She didn't know the gender before I made it. It's yellow, made with Bernat Baby yarn. So soft.  She had a baby boy!

Baby afghans and caps

These are some baby hats I made this summer for the NICU babies.

The blankets are also for the NICU babies I crochet for.  There are about 30 little blankets.  Most of them I made with leftover yarn.

These are tiny blankets mostly for premature babies.

Prayer Shawls

These are two prayer shawls I made this fall for the prayer shawl ministry I give to.

They are both made with Homespun. A pretty green and russet.

The green shawl is a rectangle shape and the russet shawl is an oblong shape.

Baby afghans...........

 This pink baby blanket I made for my Niece who is expecting a little girl in October. It's the first great-grandchild for my mom and the first great niece for me and my brothers and their families. I am excited to meet this baby!  This blanket is made with Bernat Baby coordinates.

 This is a yellow baby blanket I made for my niece but I don't like it so much. It is heavy and too thick. 

These are 100% cotton washcloths for the new baby! They were so fun to make. I hope my niece likes them.

I also made another baby blanket for a friend. It is the same color as this afghan, and she sent me a note saying they all liked it!

Shawl

I made this shawl around February for the Prayer Shawl ministry. As I was looking at it, my husband said it was huge. I tend to make the prayer shawls big, but I had a conversation with the church secretary where I donate the shawls. She said her mom received a prayer shawl but didn't like it because it was too heavy!! I never thought of that. An older person might not like such a huge and heavy prayer shawl. So, I have decided to make my shawls smaller in the future. I have one about half way done and it won't be so big, it's also a rectangular shaped shawl.
This one is made with Homespun Mixed Berries.

Crocheting

The top is a baby blanket I made for a woman having a baby girl. It is made with Homespun Tulip and the three washcloths on top are 100% cotton.                     

The bottom two are covers I made for my mom for her antique couch. The bottom lighter one is made with Homespun Parfait and the top one is Mixed Berries. I made them both and she chose the lighter one and it's almost a perfect match! The other one I gave to my daughter.

A shawl

This is a Prayer Shawl I recently finished. It is made from Lion Brand Homespun yarn and the color is "Seafoam."  It measures 115 inches across and 50 inches from neck to tip. It's huge, but this is how large I make all my prayer shawls!

I purchased this yarn on a huge sale. I think it's pretty. It's a variegated green color and looks nice. My model didn't really do a good job of modeling, he said his arms hurt to hold it up.

I will be delivering it tomorrow to the church where I donate the shawls.

Baby blankets..........

This blanket is made with Homespun. The washcloths are 100% cotton. This blanket is made for my cousin, she is having a baby boy!

These two blankets are made with Red Heart yarn. Each of the blankets are a large Granny Square Green/white on the bottom and Red/white on the top. I made these in December but I didn't get them sent in time. I'll add them to the box I send this year for the NICU babies.

This blanket I finished earlier this month. I made most of it last year and ran out of yarn and I set it aside. It's made with two strands. One is Bernat baby yarn and the other is just plain white yarn. It's a regular sized baby blanket and not a small NICU blanket.
