A book

I finished this book yesterday.
It is what is called "Advanced Reader Copy" and it is an uncorrected editors version of the book.

The book is coming out on March 29th and I couldn't wait til then to read it. This is the last book of the series.
About ten years ago, the fifth book came out and I told my hubby to order a copy from e-bay. He did and I was able to read that book about six weeks before it came out.

I thought I was going to be disappointed with this book, but that wasn't the case. I enjoyed this book.

There are some unanswered questions and I imagine we won't find out the answers since this is the last book of the series, but I am ok with that.

When these books first came out, I didn't know about them. My mom had read them from the beginning and some people at work had talked about them. I really had no interest, until I started reading the first book.

It was nice because I was able to read the first four books of the series right away and had to wait for the fifth and six, sort of. It's been nice to read the last two before they actually were out in the stores.

February Blankets

These are six preemie blankets I made for the NICU charity project.

These are two regular sized baby afghans I made for friends. On the pink blanket I attempted to make a scalloped edging, but wasn't successful. I didn't like how it looked. I think I need to investigate further how to do that type of edging.

Healthy self image

15 STEPS TO A HEALTHY SELF IMAGE
Some wisdom I picked up along the way from a great motivational speaker

1 Take inventory of yourself.
No one can male you feel inferior without your permission

2 Make up - Dress up - Go up.
Your outward appearance affects your image and performance

3 Read the life stories of men and women who used what they had and got a great deal out of life by making contributions

4 Listen to the speakers, teachers and preachers who build mankind

5 Build a healthy self image step by step - exercise

6 Join the smile and compliment club

7 Do something for someone else

8 Be careful who you associate with

9 Get in your own corner. Be your biggest fan

10 Make a victory list, from childhood to present to remind yourself of the things that you've done right. This will help you see the big picture

11 Avoid whatever does not build up your imagination

12 Learn from the successful failures

13 Join an organization with worthwhile goals that requires you to participate by speaking

14 Look you - and them - in the eye

15 Alter your physical appearance when practical and desirable

And finally...

THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BIG SHOT AND THE LITTLE SHOT IS THAT THE BIG SHOT IS JUST A LITTLE SHOT WHO KEPT ON SHOOTING!

ZIG ZIGLAR

Something worth trying

MY 5 DAILY VOWS

1. I REFUSE to be shackled by yesterday's failures.

2. What I do not know will no longer intimidate me, it will inspire me

3. I will not allow other people to define my mood, method, image or mission

4. I will pursue a mission greater than myself by making at least one person happy to have seen/met me today

5. I will have NO TIME for self-pity, gossip or negativism...from myself or anyone else

Word Cloud

Time for another word cloud.

I like these and think they are fun.

Sickos!!!

All of us in the house are sick.

The little guy and I have been sick on and off since December. He had mono, I think I had it and now we are both sick again.

The little guy has walking pneumonia. I have a nasty sinus infection and daddy is currently at the doctor seeing what's wrong with him.

We even had a dog that was sick and had to go to the vet!!

We are generally not a sick bunch of people, but it's been a rotten few months here.

I am so over not feeling well. I hope this is the last of it and we are all feeling better soon.

Yarn!!

I posted HERE about the yarn factory closing.

I felt I needed to order some soft cottony yarn from them before the move.

Got the order today!!!! This picture is what 76 skeins of cotton yarn look like!! I got some pretty colors I have never seen before.

After receiving this order, I actually want to order more yarn!! But I don't think I will be ordering more.

Superbowl

We are watching the Superbowl tonight. Not going to any parties.

I am making some yummy stuff to munch on for the game.

I am so glad we have Tivo and can pause the game when we have to put the little guy to bed!!

And part of the fun of watching is seeing the new commercials.

This year it's Green Bay vs the Steelers and I will be rooting for the Steelers!!!

Spelling Bee

This past Friday my little guys school had it's Spelling Bee with all the other area private Christian schools.

We had two first place winners from our school. A first grader and a third grader. That's pretty good since our school is pretty small.

My little guy was an alternate for his grade. So, at just our school spelling bee, he was second in his grade!! I'm so proud of him.

I was also a judge at the spelling bee and it was very interesting to learn what each of the five judges actually do in their positions. The only position I would not want to do is the Master Spelling judge. This is the judge that gives the word to the spellers. In the group that I was in, we had 8 spellers from first grade. It was so fun to watch the little ones spell.

I volunteered to be a judge next year too!!
