I can hardly believe it's November already. We had a cold and rainy, dark October. If it's cold, but there is sunshine, I am all for it!!
Thanksgiving is this month and I am hosting just my mom and my little family. I will be hosting Christmas this year for the whole family!
Yesterday I saw two flocks of wild Turkeys in the corn fields! I always love seeing the wildlife. We have had a lot of deer in our yard this fall already. The dark eyed Juncos have recently arrived from Canada to spend the winter in our much warmer climate. LOL. We get a whole bunch of them every winter and I tell my husband to throw some bird food on the snowy ground because they don't usually go to the feeders.
My mom got a new vehicle. She bought a 2006 Honda CRV and she loves it!! Her other car was older and she no longer felt safe driving it.
I can't wait for baseball next spring! We have a brand new OUTDOOR stadium!! I am so excited to go and bring the little guy to an outdoor stadium.
I am thinking of taking a trip to Maryland. Just me, for a long weekend to see my cousin. I haven't seen her for about two years now. I often think about my aunt. I used to fly to MD every three months to see my Grandma, who lived with my aunt, and to visit with my aunt. I had some really good times and I still really miss my aunt and grandma.
I still don't like yogurt. No matter what brand or type of yogurt I try, I just can't like it. I want to like it, but I just don't. Same thing with Candy corn. My kids and husband like it, and I buy it for them, but I don't ever eat it.
Husband has been working a LOT. We are continuing to pay down our debt, and we have bought some toys recently with some of his overtime earnings. We bought iTouches for all of us. And we all love them!! We didn't get iPhones because we don't get reception here with that company, so we just purchased the Touches!
We have a cousin moving to Ft Collins CO coming up, so there may or may not be a trip to CO. I think it would be a fun trip.
The boy is doing well in school. He is reading and writing well now. He is even memorizing some bible verses!! It's so fun to hear his little boy voice reciting scripture! I go once a week to serve lunch and that is always fun. He also started AWANA at church this fall and is doing well there, and having fun learning about the bible.
Daughter continues to do well at a new job, and is moving sometime this month--again. I hope she stays in this apartment for a while!!
Mom is doing well, as are my brothers and their families. I have another nephew in college. My nieces and nephews are growing up!!

August
Seems we are finally getting summer here. It's been hot and humid.
My July wasn't as busy as my August is turning out to be.
The little guy recently finished T ball, he had a blast with it this year, and his last years coach said he saw a huge improvement with the little guy. He had a really good coach this year too, which helps.
He takes his last two week session of swim lessons the next two weeks. He is looking forward to that!!
The little guy is also starting all day every day kindergarten in September. He is really excited about that, as am I. Sort of. It will be an adjustment for all of us.
I've been mostly working on the last needlepoint chair cover for my mom. I started it July 16 and am hoping to be done with it by the end of August. That has meant no crocheting for me. I have a couple of baby blankets to make too. But they can wait.
I also have found a new crochet project that I am going to give a go on. It's different and interesting. I'll post more about that later.
My husband has been working a lot and there is more of that in the future. Part of it is him picking up some overtime, and part of it is just his work schedule.
I have a high school reunion coming up this weekend. It should be fun and interesting, my husband is coming with this time. Last time the little guy was just a small baby and so the husband stayed home with the little guy.
There are several church functions over this month as well that should be fun.
Then later in the month and into early September we have the State Fair!! We will be going again to that with the little guy and daughter, if she can make it.
The girl is doing well. Starting a new job here this week. She was over the other day and the little guy really has a lot of fun when she is here.
My mom is doing well and would like to take a trip back to her hometown again. And she is having cataract surgery this coming week and then later in August, since they only do one eye at a time.
My bible study resumes in September as well. I am excited for that and am curious to know what the studies will be this year. There have been a few suggestions, so I am sure over the next few weeks that we will decide. If you have any ideas, please leave a comment!!
The garden is doing very well and we are starting to get some yummy tomatoes and green peppers and cucumbers!! Fresh garden tomatoes are my favorite!!
I think that's all I have going on here..................

Ramblings......
Today I went to the dentist. It was a good appointment but I will need a new crown on a crown I have had since I was 13. It's OLD and needs to be replaced. And the hygienist was a little vigorous with the cleaning. My teeth hurt.
My hubby got the stuff for the garden expansion yesterday and will be working on that tomorrow. I am excited to plant a bigger variety of veggies this year!!
This afternoon we had the little guy's kindergarten interview. It's a private Christian school associated with our church. I can hardly believe he will be starting kindergarten. He is excited. Me, not so much. But it will all be good!!
Today was my dog Otis birthday. He would have been seven today. I still miss him.
Hubby also got a new bird bath. We have three of them in the yard and the biggest, main one had a huge crack in it. He got a smaller one but I think I might like it better than the old huge one.
I am so happy it is spring. I like the sunshine a lot and the smell of the freshly cut grass. Even the smell of spring rain is refreshing after the winter!!

Today is May day. The first of May. I seem to have a faint memory of making Mayday baskets on this day when I was in elementary school.
Anyway, just a tiny bit of info about may day:

The weather here is improving though it is cool and rainy sometimes. We need the rain though.
We will wait til the end of the month to put in our garden. Tomatoes for sure, some peppers, hot peppers and I want to try some carrots and herbs again.
I really want an additional garden but it would have to be so far away from the other one, which would make it hard to water etc. I want lettuce but maybe I will do that in containers. My brother is doing it in pails and it's always good!
The end of school is coming up this month. I have the boy signed up for T ball and swimming and I am sure we will find other things to do throughout the summer.
It's that time of year to make dental appointments for me and the little guy. It's something I dread and I find myself putting it off unfortunately.
We found a new church home. But it's not exactly new. We have been going on and off for about twelve years and decided to make it our church home.
This church has a ton to offer for everyone of every age. We are currently taking a gifts class, only two weeks left for that. I believe I will be taking the summer off from any class or small group but will start again in the fall. The church offers a Beta class that I am interested in.
Daughter recently moved into a new place. I hope she likes it. No roommate this time. It's still close to her work. She has been coming over each Thursday while the husband and I take our class. Little guy enjoys when big sister comes over!!
I am currently crocheting some tiny preemie blankets for charity, along with regular sized baby blankets and the prayer shawls. With a few baby hats thrown in along the way. I find that I like making baby hats more than the bigger hats. Little guy put in his order for a new winter hat already!!!
I'd really like to have a go at crocheting socks!!
The dogs are both doing well after their bump removal and gum surgery. Off all antibiotics and pain pills now--thankfully. They won't have to go back to the vet til next spring!
My mom is still doing well thankfully. She will be 81 in July. I am glad she is in good health.
I was at the store today behind someone asking about cigarettes. I am so glad I quit when I did. One pack of cigarettes is seven dollars!!!!! I couldn't believe it. But the government is taxing them heavily.

April 1 2009 Ramblings
Well, it's April 1st already. And it was snowing here last night. That's no April fools joke either.
I am so tired of winter already. I want to see green grass and blooming flowers. I want to plant my veggies and turn my compost pile. I want to clean up the yard from winter dirt. I want to see the sunshine for more than one day!!
Tuesday my bible study ended. We decided to push through and finish a few weeks early so we could all enjoy the outdoor weather when it finally arrives. We will have our end of the year brunch next Tuesday. After that, me and the little guy will have our Tuesdays completely free. Speaking of Bible studies, if you have any ideas for a good bible study, leave a comment for me please. We are looking for ideas for the fall study.
I also was taking an Alpha course through my church and that ended Tuesday night. It will seem odd not to go to church on Tuesdays anymore!!
I am continuing to crochet. I need to start needlepointing again, but whenever I think about it, someone needs an afghan and I get busy crocheting again.
Same with my reading, or lack of it! I still haven't gotten back into reading as much as I used to.
I signed up the little guy for three sessions of swim lessons this summer! He loves swimming and it's a good time to have him take lessons. I was working when my daughter was small so she was a bit older when she took swim lessons. I am blessed to be able to be home with my son! He is also signed up for T ball again this spring/early summer. He likes that too.
My son will be going to kindergarten this fall. All day every day. It will surely be an adjustment for all of us as he transitions into his school days. It makes me sad that this is the last year I have with him when he is home all the time, but I know he will just love school! He is definitely ready!!
My dog Louie was sick recently. I was a little anxious about it since our other dog Otis was sick and never came home. Four hundred dollars later, the vet still doesn't know what the deal is. But treated Louie with antibiotics and a special diet--which Lou just loves! He seems to be on the mend.
The little guy and daddy made two bat houses. The bats aren't here yet but they needed a new house. They are also making a bunch of bluebird houses this year.
All in all things are going very well here. Nothing too exciting going on.

Just stuff................
My husband and I went out yesterday afternoon and got all of our Christmas shopping done! Most of the shopping is gift cards, but we also bought some actual gifts.
Today my husband is very sick. :(
My mom is going home from rehab on Saturday!!! Nine days and she is going home!! YAY!
I went to the dentist this morning and had the last three of my silver fillings replaced! Yay! I am still numb and I am hungry.
I am crocheting some adult hats and will post those soon.
I won two gift cards in the dRaffle I posted about. One for Barnes and Noble and one for Toys R Us. We bought our son an accordion and a boy doll. He loves musical instruments and asked for an accordion and my husband found one at TRU!!! The doll thing....About two years ago I found our daughters very old doll. I put it in his toy box, he didn't do much with it but throw her around and undress her--she is named Charmaine. So we found him a boy doll. I hope he likes it.
Did you know that dentists don't use Novacaine anymore?? I was shocked. They haven't used novacaine since the 1960's. They just call it novacaine because that is what people recognize!!

Ramblings from the end of October
*In the 14 years I have lived here we have never once had anyone ring our doorbell on this night. It's been 16 years for my husband. I don't mind.
*Fifteen years ago on this night my daughter was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. She is doing ok!!
*My little guy kind of knows what's going on this night but not really. I am ok with that.
*He has also had a huge growth spurt!! I had to buy new jeans for him because his other ones don't fit anymore. I was shocked.
*In 10 days my mom is having surgery on her other knee.
*I'm beginning to learn to burn bridges. I need to, it's time.
*My husband has been working nights for 3 weeks now and I am ready for him to be done with it. So is the little guy.
*We have beautiful weather right now and through the weekend. Indian summer and it is wonderful.
*I am shocked to think that this time next year my little guy will be in school full time. I have plans!!! LOL
*I like talking to old friends--ones I have known for many years. It's good to have a history like that with people.
*I don't cook much when my husband is on nights. I've been a slacker. I'm ok with that!!
*Still working on that gossip thing and boy is it hard, but I am better about not gossiping I think.
*If I tell you I will pray for you, I will. Usually right then and there. My husband and I were talking about this the other day. I sort of got after him for saying that he would pray and then not praying. We got that cleared up.
*I have really been liking my crochet board lately!! I am so glad I found it too. It has expanded my crocheting horizons a great deal.
*I'm sort of torn between two churches right now. I like the one we all go to a lot but they only have children's church twice a month and I don't want to just go to church twice a month. The little guy doesn't sit well through a whole service yet.
The other church we have been going to every week since my husband has been on nights. They have childrens church every week and it's nice.
What a dilemma..........
I don't think I have anything else right now.

Ramblings and observations
My husband and I have been couch hunting for a long time. We just wanted a simple couch like we already have. But the colors are hideous. So, finally on December 29th we went to our small town furniture store, where we should have gone to start with since it's where we got our last couch. Lo and behold they had the couch and color that we wanted.
We got a phone call today and our couch is finally in!! I think we will go get it today or tomorrow. YAY!! Daughter will get the old couch and she is happy about that.
It is almost spring and I am happy about that. Though since having my son winter is different in that he loves the snow and all that is associated with it.
I signed him up for T ball and I think he will like that since he loves to play with the bat and ball outside.
Now onto blog reading. I started this blog when I started the Seven things project and since I am done with that, I have moved on to just using it to blog stuff I think about etc. A journal of sorts.
This blog is open, not private, so I have no control over who reads it at all.
But I know who visits because I have a counter on it. And I find it interesting the people that do visit continually. A lot of these people are ex friends or aquaintences that are apparently still interested in what I have to say despite what they have said in the past. They are people that seem to be afraid of leaving a comment too. Or maybe it's that they find my blog mind numbing?? Well, if that were the case then why would they continue to visit my blog on an almost daily basis??
I mean these are women that have said nasty things about me. Women that have seemingly no interest in me at all. I just don't understand the constant visiting if that is the case. It's puzzling to me at times. Or maybe they think like I do. That even though we aren't friends anymore, I am still interested in their lives? I know, I know!! It seems very confusing to me too! I haven't yet figured it out. I don't think of reading a persons blog as a "privilege". If you post on a blog on the internet, and it's not a private blog, everyone has access to it. If you post on a message board, it isn't private either.
I read blogs, all kinds of blogs. I read blogs of people I used to associate with and people I am still friends with and blogs that I have no clue who is writing them but that I find interesting.
So maybe some of my more frequent visitors will leave a comment and shed some light on this most confusing subject!!

End of the year thoughts............
2007 is almost done. it's been a pretty good year for me and my family. My daughter is in a good apartment and went to school to become a CNA with her sites on a nursing degree. She really loves being a CNA.
My boy is growing and doing new things everyday.
My husband has had some challenges with his job but he is overcoming them.
My brothers and their families are doing well too.
My mom is doing well, though she is approaching 80 years old. I go over to her house every 2 weeks to clean her house and some days when I go over we go through pictures to identify my relatives.
I have become interested in tracing my family and have 5 generations so far. With pictures!! I have an online friend helping me too--she is very knowledgable about searching for relatives.
We bought a treadmill this year. Last year it was an elliptical which I love, but I want the treadmill so I can train for running! So I have the requisite New years resolution to exercise more!! And with that of course is losing weight.
I also plan on reading more this year. It has taken a backseat with me because of my eyesite, but I now have some good reading glasses.
Also on the list is more crocheting for Charities. I have less "friends" to crochet baby blankets for now and I would like to step up my Charity donations.
The one sad thing this year is the betrayal of friends from my online community that I have been part of for years. I've learned that a person can never know the full story on anything unless all parties involved are sharing their "side" of the story.
I had one friend in particular that I trusted with some very private information and she felt the need to share that information with others, that resulted in some hurtful things being said. Some of it was gossip I admit. My tongue got the better of me. There is no excuse. I guess it just proves that you cannot trust everybody, even those you thought you could. So, I have virtually lost a ton of friends that I shared my life with through this incident. It just saddens me. Part of the issue I believe is that with communication through the computer, that the nuances, tone etc is NOT communicated and can lead to misunderstandings.
We also took a trip to Annapolis this fall for my husbands college reunion at the Naval Academy. I met up with some women from the above mentioned online community and it was a wonderful time of chatting and meeting in person.
I am looking forward to 2008 and the rewards and challenges it may bring. I wish you all well in the New Year!!
My boy is growing and doing new things everyday.
My husband has had some challenges with his job but he is overcoming them.
My brothers and their families are doing well too.
My mom is doing well, though she is approaching 80 years old. I go over to her house every 2 weeks to clean her house and some days when I go over we go through pictures to identify my relatives.
I have become interested in tracing my family and have 5 generations so far. With pictures!! I have an online friend helping me too--she is very knowledgable about searching for relatives.
We bought a treadmill this year. Last year it was an elliptical which I love, but I want the treadmill so I can train for running! So I have the requisite New years resolution to exercise more!! And with that of course is losing weight.
I also plan on reading more this year. It has taken a backseat with me because of my eyesite, but I now have some good reading glasses.
Also on the list is more crocheting for Charities. I have less "friends" to crochet baby blankets for now and I would like to step up my Charity donations.
The one sad thing this year is the betrayal of friends from my online community that I have been part of for years. I've learned that a person can never know the full story on anything unless all parties involved are sharing their "side" of the story.
I had one friend in particular that I trusted with some very private information and she felt the need to share that information with others, that resulted in some hurtful things being said. Some of it was gossip I admit. My tongue got the better of me. There is no excuse. I guess it just proves that you cannot trust everybody, even those you thought you could. So, I have virtually lost a ton of friends that I shared my life with through this incident. It just saddens me. Part of the issue I believe is that with communication through the computer, that the nuances, tone etc is NOT communicated and can lead to misunderstandings.
