Sunday song

Lincoln Brewster
Majestic lyrics

Oh Lord, Our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth
Oh Lord, Our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth
The heavens declare Your greatness
The oceans cry out to You
The mountains, they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll give my praise to You

Oh Lord, Our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth
Oh Lord, Our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth
The heavens declare Your greatness
The oceans cry out to You
The mountains, they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll sing...
The heavens declare Your greatness
The oceans cry out to You
The mountains, they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll give my praise to You

And I will worship You
I will worship You
I will worship You (I will worship You, Oh God)
I will worship You
We will worship You (We will worship You, Oh God)
We will worship You

The
Heavens declare Your greatness
The oceans cry out to You
The mountains, they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll sing...
The heavens declare Your greatness
The oceans cry out to You
The mountains, they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll give my praise to You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll give my praise to You
So I'll join with the earth and I'll give my praise to You

1 Chronicles 29:11-13
11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD,
And You are exalted as head over all.

12 Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.

13 “Now therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.

September blanket

Ok, it's not really a blanket. It's a SHAWL!!!

I have been wanting to make a shawl for about 3 years and I finally made one.

It's actually a prayer shawl that I will give to the church I have my bible study at.

I was at bible study and happened to notice the bulletin board that had an announcement about the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

It is made with Homespun and the color is Ranch.

It is 77 inches wide by 34 inches long.

I used a pattern from this book.

I am making the one on the cover next.

Thankful Thursday

Here it is already, another Thursday.

It's starting to get cooler here now.

Today, I am thankful for:

* The fall weather
* my marriage
* my children
* my faith

Nothing spectacular this week. More of the same.

Amos 5:8
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

September 24, 1994

Fourteen years ago we got married. I am so thankful to God for my husband and the life we share and the children we share.

We had a smallish wedding. My daughter was in it too. I had a Maid of Honor too. My husband had a Best man and a Groomsman. It was the exact wedding we both wanted.

It was a 2 pm wedding with lots of finger foods at the reception because I didn't want a sit down meal.

I cried throughout the whole ceremony and my eyes weren't even red!!

It was a beautiful day, sort of like today is. It was a fall day since I wanted to be married in the fall.

We were at our hotel by 6 pm. My husband rented a themed room and ours was "Grecian".

He planned the honeymoon too. We were going to do a cruise in Alaska but the last ship sailed one week before we got married.

We went to Maine and Boston and had a beautiful time.

My daughter joined us in Boston for the last few days and we all had a great time.

A lot has happened in our 14 years but I am not sure I would change much that has happened--the good or the bad. I know that God has a plan for us and He has had that plan from the beginning of time.

My husband and I met at dance lessons that a friend and I took together. I hadn't really dated much in the 9 years I had my daughter but decided I needed to learn to two step, three step and the waltz--all country style!!!

And it was all God that we even met since my friend and my class was cancelled and we had to wait to take the class where I met my husband.

We took the next set of lessons and started dated and then 9 months later we got married!!

I love my husband and love the life we have and I look forward to all our years together.

2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Ephesians 5:22-24

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Genesis 2:23-25
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Fall...........and grasshoppers

Today is the first official day of fall.

The autumnal equinox.

It's also my favorite time of year.

The cool crispness of the mornings.

The beautiful trees changing colors.

I had always wanted to be married in the fall, and I was!!

This year I have noticed a lot of grasshoppers around, so has my little guy. We are both fascinated with them this year.

Right now they are busy mating and laying eggs. I noticed a female waling around getting ready to lay her eggs.

You might ask how I know it was a female and readying to lay her eggs. Well, I looked it up based on what she looked like.

The information said she was ovapositing her eggs. It was fascinating to watch.

The little guy likes to catch them in his hands or extend his fingers so they crawl onto them. It's been fun with the grasshoppers this year.

Fall.................

Monday is officially the first day of fall.

I love this time of year.

I was driving with my son this morning and saw the most beautiful red fall tree among a whole bunch of vibrant green trees.

It was beautiful. It just should out so much among the green trees.

I did not get a picture but the picture above is close to it.

Scarves revisited

I made ten scarves and was gathering the address to send them to when I read the fine print on the site.

It said that they would only like to receive five blankets per person for donation.

I was shocked and after I got over the shock I searched the internet for another place to donate the other five scarves.

A few months back I came across a site that was interesting to me and when I was looking the other day, I found the site again!!

http://www.seamenschurch.org/474.asp

So I emailed the person in charge and she assured me the scarves would be welcomed. YAY!!

Yesterday I mailed all the scarves.

Sunday song

This is actually just the last part of the song.

I like this part.

I am blessed in my life. With my family and friends.

Past, present and future friends.

I feel very blessed today.

Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Anniversary

Our anniversary is later this month.

We went out last night to celebrate. My husband will be working on the actual date.

We don't exchange gifts anymore and that's ok with me. I am not much of a gift person at all. And he bought me an anniversary band ring a few years ago.

I don't wear much jewelry other than my rings and necklace.

We do exchange cards though and it's always fun finding a nice card for him.

It's almost hard to believe we have been married 14 years already, yet sometimes it seems longer than that.

I've always enjoyed being married and have always told my friends that.

It's good to work well with your spouse and my husband and I work well together!!

Apples

We have a bunch of Apple trees in our yard.

We don't spray them or do anything to them other then let them grow.

Most years we get a bunch of apples and sometimes they are wormy.

This year we got a few and they are good apples with no worms in them.

They are just perfect for this time of year to make apple crisp or some applesauce.

Fresh tomatoes...

We had an abundance of tomatoes this year.

We had regular tomatoes and Roma's.

My husband made 11 quarts of salsa and I made 9 quarts of tomato sauce to freeze!

We also gave away a ton of tomatoes to family members this year.

We had BLT's a few times too.

There is nothing like a fresh homegrown tomato with dinner.

I can't wait to eat the tomato sauce this winter!!!

Sunday song

Thank you Lord

by Don Moen

I come before you today
And there's just one thing that I want to say
Thank you lord
Thank you lord
For all you've given to me
For all the blessings that I cannot see
Thank you lord
Thank you lord

With a grateful heart
With a song of praise
With an outstretch arm
I will bless your name
Thank you lord
I just wanna thank you lord
Thank you lord
I just wanna thank you lord
Thank you lord

For all you've done in my life
You took my darkness and gave me your light
Thank you lord
Thank you lord
You took my sin and my shame
You took my sickness and healed all my pain
Thank you lord
Thank you lord

Flowers

Yesterday just before suppertime, my son and husband were out in the backyard.

After a while my little guy came to the door and told me to close my eyes, that he had a surprise for me.

So, I played along and closed my eyes.

Then he said, "open your eyes" and he was holding these flowers.

In his little boy voice he said, " I picked these flowers for you from the back yard mommy".

It was so sweet.

Then he went back to playing outside!!

Jerry Lewis

I have long been a fan of Jerry Lewis.

I remember when his Muscular Dystrophy Telethons were on a major station.

This year there was a record 65 million raised for MD. I think it's great that with all his health issues that he still participates in the telethons. I thought he looked well this year too.

Many years ago I went to see him in Damn Yankee. It was fun to see him live.

During one point of the show, one of the other actors called him Mr. Lewis instead of by his characters name, and they all cracked up laughing, and so did the audience.

He is 82 now and I hope he is around for while yet!

Thankful Thursday

Wow, I can't believe it's been another week gone by!

This week I am thankful for:

* the freedoms we have in this country
* new veggies to try from my CSA delivery
* My husband
* cooler weather today and yesterday
* new schedules and routines
* God's love and faith and mercy

Animals

I have always had a cat or a dog. I used to be a huge cat person but when I got married I started to like dogs more.

Then I started visiting my Grandma, who lived with my aunt. You've read about them here.

My aunt had Jack Russells and I told my husband that I had
to get one. The timing wasn't right but it wasn't too long before we got our puppy.

One time vising my aunt, I had a dream about my new dogs name. He would be named Otis.

We found a woman that breeds JRT's and we went to look at puppies. She had some 10 week old puppies that we thought we would be choosing from. Instead, when we got there, there were also three brothers that were about 3 months old. The last of their litter to be chosen.

We visited with each puppy and then husband and I talked and agreed on one dog. That was our Otis. The breeder told us we had chosen the most loving of the three puppies.

We took Otis home and he was my buddy. He went everywhere with me. He even flew out to visit my aunt and grandma!!

When Otis was 7 months old, his mom had another litter of puppies. We also went to get one of those puppies. We named him Louie. He and Otis were the best of friends. They played, ate and slept together. They were like, well the brothers that they were!!

They both were my buddies. They went a lot of places with us and they were the best lap dogs.

Then Otis got sick and died. I still miss him even though it's been 3 months now.

Louie still misses him a lot too. And I can't do anything for Louie.

When my aunt died, about 6 months later my husband drove out to Maryland to get her dogs. She had 2 JRT's and a mixed dog.

We still have the female--her name is Sophie. She is the same age as Louie and Otis. So they are still young at 6 yrs. Louie has known Sophie his whole life so the transition of her living here hasn't been too hard. She's been with us almost 4 years now and is a good fit for us. Plus I think she keeps Louie company now.

I know that one day I will get more dogs, and they will likely be Jack Russells. And I already have names picked out for them.

I also know that another dog can never replace my sweet Otis.

There is a fun animal site that always makes me laugh and smile. It's over on the sidebar and it's called Cute Overload. I promise if you are feeling down it will make you laugh and smile.

September 1

I can hardly believe it is September already.

We have a few tomatoes left in the garden and the compost tomatoes may or may not be ready before the cold comes.

The male hummingbirds have gone south. The females and juveniles are still hanging around trying to get fat!!

This month my husband and I will be married 14 years!!

We are making great strides in our efforts to get out of debt, thanks in part to Dave Ramsey.

My daughter is doing well too.

My son starts school in a week and I am excited!! Three days a week this year.

My mom is doing fantastic and is having her other knee done in November!
