Dishcloths

There was a post going around on Facebook. "pay it forward in 2011". If you post that and "I will make something handmade and send it to the first five people that comment", people would make a comment and in turn, post it on their wall.

I was disappointed with the outcome. My cousin and I concluded that people just don't really make things anymore, or don't have the time. even a simple card would be fun to receive.

I knew immediately when I saw the post that I would be participating. I only got four people to play along, and these are some of the dishcloths I made and am sending out to people.

They are made with 100% cotton yarn and they are fun to make too!!

My Mom has been making dish cloths, she gave me a couple and I really like them.

I saw this post on FB too. When I see it I debate partcipating b/c I don't know what I'd make!! I guess I could do something edible since I don't crochet or have a real craft!

Pamela,
I too make lots of crocheted items each year, as well as doing embrodery projects.
I actually learned to crochet sitting in front of (rather than beside) my Mother, so I crochet "backwards"! It ends up that the front of mine would be the back of yours, but it still works!
I call it my "therapy" because it is something I always have either beside my chair or in my bag to take anywhere I go!
I consider it a blessing to be able to do this and share what I've made with others.
As you said, there don't seem to be very many who make handmade things anymore.
Thank you for reaching out to my Mother (Hilda) through the Hearts for Seniors program!
