Olympics
I love watching the Olympics, Winter or Summer. I know throughout my life I have watched them, but I am most aware of the 1980 and 1984 Olympics as when I started watching them with great interest.
This year is an anniversary of sorts for me and my husband.
We were just newly dating when we were watching the 1994 Winter Olympics. I vividly remember watching mens Alpine skiing.
So this is our fifth Olympics together.
I look forward to many many more too!!

Thankful Thursday
Today Iris at Grace Alone is talking about change and new things.
I don't really like a lot of change. Maybe I am set in my ways, but I am not real big on change. Though, as I get older, I seem to be able to deal with change better.
I don't like to try new things most of the time but I do. Sometimes I just need to push myself and try that new thing.
This has been a good week. Not too much has happened, it's just been a good week.
I am thankful for many things.
* my hardworking husband
* my sweet little boy
* warm sunshine
* my daughter
* friends

Prayers and Promises week 8
Titus 3:5-7 (New Living Translation)
5 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

Thankful Thursday
Today join us at Grace Alone .
Today I am thankful for many things. It has been a reflective type of day for me. Thinking about people no longer with me here on earth, and thinking of friends, past and present.
I have also been thinking of my past. Thinking of the good and the bad. The regrets and the moments of joy.
I have learned that I need to find forgiveness in myself. It seems to be a hard task.
I am thankful for my little guy who makes me smile. He wants a dessert other than the lemon cake I made!! He apparently doesn't like lemon cake!!
I am thankful for my hardworking husband and the time we spend together. And the mid week lunches we enjoy so often.
I am thankful for my family, sunshine, a full belly and friends.
I am thankful that I can pray whenever and wherever I want.

Proverbs 17:9, King James Version
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Baby washcloths
These are nine baby wash cloths I made recently for the baskets for the auction at my little guys school.
They are all made with 100% cotton yarn. They are so soft and will be even softer after I wash them!!
Most of the washcloths are about 8x8. Some are a bit smaller.
I plan on putting three in each basket and then will send the last three to a woman I know having a baby girl!!

February Blankets
This is a baby blanket I made for an auction.
My little guy goes to a private school and each spring they have a dinner and auction to raise money for various school items.
A lot of the families at the school make baskets to give to the auction. I crochet so I am making a blanket basket for the auction. It will include the blanket, crocheted baby washcloths, a onsie and a toy.
This blanket is made with Homespun Cotton Candy and it is 32 inches wide by 42 inches long.

Thankful Thursday
This month we are meeting at Grace Alone where Iris is writing about Daily Blessings this week.
I have learned over the years that I can pray anytime and anywhere. I never knew that and just though that I could pray to God at night. But it has changed something about my prayer life to know this.
I can sit in front of the computer and if someone on Facebook or a message board has a prayer request, I can pray right then and there--and I do. Almost every time I pray immediately for the prayer request.
To me, this is a daily blessing. And sort of selfish since if I pray immediately, I don't have a long list to pray for at night!!
That is just one of my daily blessings.
All I need to do is look around my life to see how blessed I truly am!! I thank God daily for the big and small blessings in my life!!
Today I am thankful for, and blessed because:
* my faith
* enjoying a lunch date with my husband in the middle of the week
* my daughter coming for a visit
* my little guy!
* my other family members
* my dogs--they are such good companions.

Psalm 33:4-5
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Groundhog day
Well, it seems as though Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today in Pennsylvania.
Looks like we are in for another six weeks of winter.
I am not surprised by that at all. Especially living here. We have winter sometimes well into March. The day we brought the little guy home from the hospital, we had a snow storm. It was a beautiful fluffy, yet wet snow. Gorgeous.
So I am not looking to see warmer weather til some time in March.
HERE is some more info on Groundhog day that you might find interesting.
