Thankful Thursday

Today Lynn is hosting Thankful Thursday. Pop on over to her blog and have a look around!

This has been a somewhat busy week for me. Tuesday I brought the little guy to the doctor--he is diagnosed with shingles!! I had no idea that is what it is.

Also on Tuesday my dear husband went to the doctor. He also is extremely rashy. He gets a terrible rash every spring but this year is is exceptionally bad. He got some prednisone from his doctor and is feling somewhat better. These rashes are from allergies.

I also uncovered a rabbits nest a week or so ago and I was afraid the mama would abandon her babes. She did not! My husband saw a baby bunny venturing out yesterday and it scooted back into it's burrow.

We had an unexpected frost that killed off some of the plants we planted. Thankfully our veggies are ok!

Today I am thankful for:
* my little guys health
* that my husband is feeling better
* for the beautiful early spring days
* the birds singing
* a clean house and full pantry!

Have a great week.

Kindergarten pot

This is a flower pot that my little guys class decorated. It's a ten inch terra cotta pot with the tray.

We had a dinner and auction for a school fundraiser and I won the Kindergarten class project. It also came with a beautiful tray with a class picture decopaged onto the tray. The terra cotta pot was filled with all sorts of gardening items and seeds. It also came with a gift certificate to a nursery!

All the items we donated went at the auction too!

It was such a fun evening! I can't wait til next year.

It is made with Homespun Candy Apple (the same as the other red/white blankets I made) and it is 34 inches wide and 50 inches long.

Thankful Thursday

Today Lynn is talking about new birth at her blog for Thankful Thursday. She also asks: "have you had a tiny encounter with Jesus lately?"

I try to look for the Jesus encounters and sometimes they come when I am not looking. Sometimes I miss them and think later, "oh yeah, that was Jesus!!"

This week I am thankful for many things:
* the beautiful spring weather, it is TWO whole weeks early here and we have been planting lots of stuff.
* the dentist for finally getting my crown in, and it fit perfectly! There was a mistake with the first crown and I had to wait an extra week for the new crown.
* my family
* my freedom and faith

April blankets

This blanket is made for a special woman that was told she would never have babies because of some health issue.

It is the sister in law and best friend of the woman I made this blanket for. The sister in law liked the red/white blanket so much that I made one for her. It will be a surprise so I will be excited to hear how she likes it for her little baby boy!

It is one of my favorite colors. And incredibly, I am making a solid red one for another little boy!!

It's made with Homespun Candy Apple and Heppelwhite. It is 31 inches wide and 39 inches long.

Thankful Thursday

Don't forget to go visit Lynn at her blog this week for Thankful Thursday!

I have had a somewhat busy week doing extra things I don't normally do and my husband has been working nights. I don't get very good rest when he works nights.

I also had a dental appointment for a crown, except the crown was made incorrectly and it has to be remade. Then, in talking with the dentist about my teeth, we agreed I would probably need another crown soon. I do not like teeth issues at all.

This week I am thankful for:
* a good dentist!
* my sweet boy--listening to him say the Lord's prayer!!
* my husband, I am thankful he works so hard for us so I can stay home!
* my daughter!
* sunny, warm days!!
* the birds singing in the very early morning
* the bats being back!

6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.
7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.

April blankets

These six blankets are for the babies at the NICU.

The top two blankets are made with Patons Melody Thick and Cozy yarn. The color is pastel clouds. It is so pretty, thick and soft for baby blankets. These blankets are about 17X19 inches.

The two pink blankets are made with Bernat Softee Baby. the colors are Peony Prints and Soft Red. The peony is actually a variegated color but the red sort of blocks it out. I got both these colors on a huge discount. These two blankets are about 16X17 inches.

The two blueish blankets are made with TLC Baby Amore. I am not sure what the color is but I thought it was pretty. These two blankets measure about 21X27 inches.

A book recommendation.............

The New Eve

I am currently reading this book for my bible study.

I highly recommend it to any woman! It is a great book.

It is written by a man, which I thought was totally wrong, but after reading it I can see how it works!

Thankful Thursday

Lynn is blogging about "When God Corrects" today and it is good-go read it!!

Today was a beautiful day. My husband has the week off and it's so enjoyable having him around. We always have fun when he is home. He even helped me clean today since I had absolutely no ambition to clean the house today, but I did get it all done!

I am thankful for:
*my husband!!
*my little guy
*my daughter
*my faith and God and his mercy!
*beautiful, sunny spring days
*Spring, when everything is new and growing!

Prayers and Promises week 14

Bethany has chosen "one another" for the April theme. I think I will like this months verses!!

Ephesians 4:32:
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all of you!

Today is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

I am aware of the pagan beginnings of easter. But I know the difference between the pagan traditions and the biblical traditions.

We don't do an easter basket of colored eggs and candy and toys. But we do eat a lot of chocolate eggs and other goodies this time of year. And I make a traditional "easter" dinner.

I am so glad we are able to send the little guy to a private school that actually teaches biblical principals and what really happened to Jesus. And I am thankful for a church that teaches biblically. And for a husband that has a teaching gift!!

Romans 10:9 (New King James Version)

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Thankful Thursday

This month Lynn is hosting Thankful Thursday.

Today Lynn is blogging about Holy week and Passover. If you have never had a seder meal, I highly recommend it. The meal and traditions are wonderful!

Today I am thankful for many things. My little guy was diagnosed with strep for the very first time ever. He was feeling poorly and just not himself, but he wasn't complaining too much. We called the doctor and the clinic got him in right away. He is currently taking antibiotics and feels much better. I am thankful for antibiotics.

I am thankful for my husband who is handy around the house and yard. He added a fence to our yard so the dogs don't mess the whole yard. It will be nice to have some grass that is clean!! And the new fencing looks great.

He also added some iron edging fence to the flower garden areas. It has hummingbirds on it and it also looks great.

I am thankful today for warm weather. We had NO snow in March. That hasn't happened here for many many years. And today it is 72 and sunny. It is gorgeous out today.

I am thankful for the new life in the spring time. The birds singing, and the grass greening up.

I am thankful for my family.

I am thankful for Jesus! He is RISEN!!!
